With SteamOS 3.7 releasing with Legion Go S support, we also now have the ability to install SteamOS on any AMD Handheld like the ROG Ally, Legion Go, and more.
It is. Not comparable at all. Starting with Arch barebones and building an entire OS on it is basically all the work with the least amount of skipping. Lots more room to cater to and optimize handheld experience
CachyOS is just steam OS if you set steam to launch in big picture mode at boot.
Everything’s preinstalled same scheduler arch based and they even have a iso designed for handhelds.
Iv never understood why the fedora solutions got so popular when people want a steamOS distro. Like we have a basically 1:1 clone and everyone just goes naw choose a fedora option and then complains it’s not close enough.
“SteamOS has released!”
“Yay!”
“It’s just Nobara with official support”
“Oh.”
@OmegaLemmy @cm0002 I thought Nobara was Fedora-based?
