Retiarius, got it!

(One of the legitimate tactics of the Retiarius - and why it was sometimes seen as the least ‘manly’ of the gladiator types - was simply to evade their heavier opponent until their opponent was exhausted)

I’m not actually very well-versed on gladiators, because it’s one aspect of Roman history that doesn’t fascinate me, for whatever reason - but I do know for sure that there were certain ‘pairings’ of gladiator types that were considered uneven (and thus all the more fun to bet on).

Interesting enough, there’s symbolism there! Both the Murmillo and Secutor have fish motifs about them, and were often paired up against the Retiarius - fish against fisherman!
