Seen it in the Caribbean, I expect it’s plenty common in places where the sun is a deadly laser.
The squirrels on campus back in the day were so used to people. We’d go with a bag of peanuts and they would all come running. Some would sneak in and steal them out of the bag, others would eat them out of your hand, a couple would go wherever you led them, including on top of my head or in the palm of my outstretched hand. And then sit there and eat the peanuts.

2·7 days agoYou’re not gonna believe this but … I fucking knew it. That is exactly the one that first came to mind, and I am ashamed that I didn’t just blurt it out before.
I’ve had a whole lot of different scotches and whiskies, and Balvenie is hands down the best. Dalwhinnie is another good one along those lines, if you’re looking to compare.
Whatever you think about Israel and Palestine, this is wrong. Erasing people in the name of your religion or ethnicity is wrong.
Britain? The place that makes recognizing Palestine a jailable offense?

Which one? I must know.
Examples of simple, non-aggressive things that anyone can do:
- Get healthy. You will need physical stamina.
- Make a space in your home for short or long term guests. There will be refugees.
- Plant a garden. There will be shortages.
- Record, report, resist. Use your phone to record fascist activites. The linked site is one way to make sure those videos are publicly available.
- Build networks with neighbors and friends, online and off. We will need to support each other.
- Learn how to prepare rations, even if it’s just hard tack. Armies fight on their stomachs.
Extending that, it’s going to take a lot of people doing a lot of different things, from all angles, to ultimately succeed in quashing fascism again.
