The answer is going to differ slightly depending on which generation you grew up in, but most likely the difference is that while porn was still available and some of it was still extreme, people were still mostly going out and interacting with the opposite sex. The porn was on a magazine, or a PC, and that’s where it stayed when you left the house.

Now it’s easier to find porn than ever, the devices used to watch it are mobile, and you have kids that glamorize their porn addictions (I have unwillingly learned what a “gooner” is), and using it to model sexual relationships while their in-person interactions are fewer and fewer.

In any case, if parents are concerned about their kids’ porn habits, it’s their responsibility to curb them, not the governments.

If a user is posting nudes in a community where they are relevant, why does it bother people whether their goal is to have fun showing themselves off or to get new subscribers, unless you felt entitled to their content being made for your entertainment without any benefit to them? It’s like watching a porno that you searched for and then being upset that the actors are getting paid instead of doing it for the thrill of it.

Did it? I seldom watch porn but there is still plenty of free and studio content available on the internet. Admitting you have an OnlyFans in everyday life (in person) is usually going to be met with judgement rather than acceptance, and people have lost their jobs after the discovery of their OnlyFans.

Maybe you meant that it has become very common for users in NSFW communities to have an OnlyFans, which is true, but it’s only really annoying if they spam their content in communities where it doesn’t belong or try to bait you into buying it after initiating what seems like a normal conversation. Even then it’s easy to block them.

I’m with you on this one. Content that allows you to use imagination lets you fill in the gaps to your liking and put yourself in the scenario. With video, it’s harder to mentally filter out the parts that don’t interest you, and videos will rarely be exactly what you want from start to finish.

Appreciate you posting opinions that are actually controversial. I agree with the majority of them, particularly the ones that boil down to “it’s no one’s business what consenting adults do in their private lives”.

What criteria, in your opinion, have to be met for an individual to be given the freedom to exercise bodily autonomy?

Even if an individual says they consent, even if they show enthusiasm, there is a point where their consent is not seen as valid neither morally nor legally. Whether that point is defined by age or intellectual capacity, why shouldn’t it extend to animals as well?

Agree! Porn was never meant to be a substitute for sexual education and there is rarely emphasis on foreplay or aftercare.

I have user tags enabled since it’s fun to see how many times I upvoted or downvoted a user displayed by their username, but I don’t add any of my own tags or interact with users beyond what is said in the comments of a specific thread.
