As a kid growing up in the 90’s you wouldn’t believe the amount of times my parents and teachers vehemently insisted to me that I MUST do dictionary lookup drills because there’s no way I would just always have access to an electronic dictionary in my pocket. I was also told that I absolutely HAD to be fast at paper-based multiplication and long division. It’s not like I would just carry a calculator around with me everywhere I go, that would be insane!
Please don’t conflate American scientists and American politicians. There is absolutely zero intersection between those two groups, and if you don’t think American scientists are on the forefront of nearly every field of research I don’t know what to tell you…

I’m doing a bunch of vacationing at famous museums and it’s insane to me that after we all just learned how to survive a pandemic, I have seen exactly ZERO people who are sick and coughing up a lung in the museums are wearing a fucking mask. I hate humanity.
