treasure planet is a criminally underrated masterpiece of a film with a great deal of heart put into it that i would never for an instant consider describing as “shitty”.
what a weird comment.
is this supposed to imply i don’t have taste?
should i clap back about how you prefer to let paid shills tell you how and what to think about media?
or should we notice that we’re in a thread about liking bad movies and maybe not make attacks on each others’ character in the most chickenshit-ass sideways manner in the name of defending some corpo website from flippantly vague criticism?
i don’t bother myself keeping up with what’s “canon” anymore because nearly every screenplay addition to the canon since the OT has been hella stupid, and most of the time retroactively makes the existing story worse. disney’s starting to ramp it up to kingdom hearts levels of convolution and pointless tie-ins that go nowhere but inexplicably contain huge plot points because… money i guess?
the OT is great but star wars as a franchise is generally fucking awful with some good bits here and there.
rotten tomatoes is the worst indicator of whether a movie is any good, and “critics” are talking out their asses 100% of the time.
TLJ is easily the best non-OT Star Wars movie.
Most of the whining about it is either shit people made up (Luke drinking milk directly from the alien’s udder and smiling erotically into the camera*), shit they didn’t take two seconds to even try to understand (like how the “Mary Poppins” effect is actually a realistic portrayal of how things move in zero-G vacuum, or how humans don’t just explode in space like they do in shitty B-movies**), or criticisms that could be equally leveled at basically any Star Wars movie (weird pacing, minor plot holes, inconsistent “rule of cool” logic for tech and magic).
Once the typical reactionary fanboy-didn’t-get-exactly-what-he-expected dies down I think it’ll be recognized as one of the franchise’s higher points. TLJ’s worst sin is being situated between two JJ Abrams hack jobs.
*no I’m not making this up someone unironically described it to me this way with a straight face.
**not making this up either, people i’ve talked to legit seem to think one atmo of negative pressure turns the human body into a meat bomb or something.
Star Trek IV: The Journey Home is way the hell better than any movie with “IV” in its title has any right to be.
it’s so much fun watching Kurt Russell clueless-white-guy-ing his way through the plot thinking he’s the hero when he’s the sidekick.
hot take, almost all of the star wars movies and shows are objectively pretty damn shitty, RoS is just the newest bad movie in a series with far more misses than hits.
why are you high horsing over someone liking a bad movie, from a series of mostly bad movies, in a thread about liking bad movies?
Heaven forbid a children’s movie portray the characters in peril. Did Mom just not ever watch movies as a kid?
Starcrash.
The dude playing the emperor was phenomenal, and the effects team were competent as fuck even if the suits couldn’t make a damn choice and stick with it. Plus it has the Hoff.
I DON’T WANNA CLOSE MY EYES
upvote for Mr John Bigbooty
upvote for actually understanding the prompt and naming a shitty movie.
Rubber is fucking brilliant!
All four of the OG Tremors movies kick ass.

SteamOS is based on Arch, which is what I’m running right now.
Arch comes with the kernel, a package manager, some generic drivers to get you started, and a CLI. That’s it. Zero bloat. You then add what you need/want on top of it.
It’s not “stripped down”, it’s not hobbled for the sake of extra performance, it actually has more system components than my daily driver. You can get ahold of the recovery ISO and go install it on any box, it’s not really super specialized beyond supporting video games.
hell i have a friend who slaps steamos on everything anymore because it works out of the box everywhere and does everything just fine. it’s absolutely not some hobbled abnormal linux, it’s a fully featured OS that does everything just fine.
“De-bloating” and “stripping down” are things Windows users do, because Windows is bloated and fucky and awful. That’s just not a thing on Linux dude.
nah movie reviews have been a thing since forever, before they were online they were on tv and in the newspapers. remember that fuckhead ebert being wrong about everything every single time?
