9 days agoThe moral stance of “everyone else is terrible so I should be able to be terrible too” is arguably why everything remains terrible. That’s even a pre-utilitarian argument, which itself is extremely outdated. Unfortunately most people don’t have the free time to explore moral philosophy and they certainly don’t teach it as standard in school for some reason.
Your tag seems to suggest that there aren’t genetic predispositions to certain cancers (e.g. BRCA1 for breast cancer). A better criticism might be “that’s not how cancer works” since every cancer type is essentially a separate disease. Cheers.
