Which is a problem to deal with when it arises. What exhausts me is having to say “No it isn’t AI, it’s real, you just forgot about basic photography. Also stop wasting my time with these accusations that will have people like a mob downvoting something and losing their mind when using tineye for 5 seconds would answer your question.”
I had shit removed from @Pics@lemmy.world because the mod over there saw two accusations of an image being AI and removed it and refused blatant proof of it being a photo from it being from multiple angles with the same “errors”. It’s why I stopped posting there entirely and went to nocontextpics. When the mods are jumping on the bandwagon then it isn’t a place I want to be associated with.
Agreed, it’s aggravating. It might be necessary to include (not AI) in the description or something since so many people seem to want to be AI detectives now.
Hell no. I post ‘Not OC’ because one user decided to have a screaming meltdown about how I was misleading people by uploading stuff and not saying ‘Not OC’. I’m already babysitting enough people on Lemmy. The ‘Oh this is AI’ people can deal with having their stupidity repeatedly called out to their face and deal with my frustration that they don’t have enough brain cells to scoop together the ability to type tineye.com into the address bar.
Correct. The issue in this specific comment thread is not that AI is hard to discern. That is a discussion for a different thread. The discussion here is that people are being lazy and using AI as an excuse to dismiss stuff instead of using rational thought and attempting to solve the answer for themselves.
As said.
I don’t have enough crayons to keep explaining this.
My intent was to commiserate and call out how AI is ruining the internet and creating additional friction represented in this thread, and I don’t agree it needs a whole discussion elsewhere. To your point, AI is a crutch for the lazy and will contribute to the further lack of critical thinking evidenced here. But, I can see you’re set on being condescending and pedantic, so I’ll happily show myself out.

That’s an option, too! I’d just want to try to head such comments off so I don’t have to call them out.
AI is a problem right now, your frustration is proof enough of that. This will only continue to get worse, unfortunately.
Great photo, btw.
My frustration is proof that people are incapable of rational thought without their hand being held.
I’m disappointed I have to do the same thing, again, in the same comment thread.
Oh sure OK, there isn’t a larger issue here at all, it’s just people being dumb. Sure pal.

The frustration rather shows that The AI hate brigade that sees AI behind everything is a problem.
Making an absolute ass out of themselves again and again, being wrong, self righteous, self aggrandising and, most importantly, absolutely annoying.
When people question if every photo is real or fake, thats a problem, and if you don’t recognize that you’re a fool.
Oh, it Is a problem. The Problem is that people are morons though.
