I’m looking for places with less censorship so we can have actual discussions instead of only allowing comments that support the trans agenda.
That level of censorship does not help their cause; it actively hinders it because regular people aren’t allowed to have their own beliefs on the matter. Either they succumb to the hysteria, or they’re ousted.
I’d honestly be surprised if even asking this question didn’t result in censorship. That’s how bad things have gotten.
Edit: Plenty of personal attacks, but no legitimate answers! Did anyone come to this thread to actually answer the question?
Who else fucking behaves like this?
Imagine asking a black person why you can’t simply have a discussion over their right to exist, their right to be treated with the same respect we treat others.
Fucking trans agenda.
Fuck off you fucking cunt.
Well you seem to consider it a “hysteria” and a “trans agenda”, so I don’t think you would welcome any actual discussion. Or that you care at all either way.
If you really want to discuss the question of what gender really is, does it exist, and how this messy stuff of being a human functions, there are much better ways to open a discussion.
Do you know any lemmy communities that allow criticism of transgenderism?
Most of them. There are a couple of crazy ones, but mostly don’t be an asshole and I doubt many would ban you for expressing an opinion that gender is permanently fixed on birth/conception. You would get downvoted a lot though.
Can you share some examples?
Based on what I’ve seen and experienced, most communities do not allow criticism of transgenderism and will ban anyone for “expressing an opinion that gender is permanently fixed on birth/conception.”
Your opinion is being allowed right here and now. But because you suck, you’re being criticized and down voted.
You have a chance to run an experiment.
Know your audience. A lot of people here are trans or trans-adjacent. Imagine if you were speaking to a room full of trans people. What would you say to convince them to accept their birth gender? Or at least not be booed out of the room.
We could probably have this discussion in a community that allows criticism of transgenderism.
Is the conversation not happening right here and now? You have been given an offer to speak and it feels a bit like you are shutting it down yourself. It feels like you are concerned that it will not go over well.
I believe that trans people have a right to live and thrive, just as anyone does. To me the question feels like “should we let people with brown hair exist?” “All those brownies are trying to make us all have brown hair!”
Do you have an answer to the thread’s question?
We can have it RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW. Nobody is censoring you, but you refuse to engage in the debate you claim you can’t post about.
You are just begging the question, troll. Get out of here with your doubly dishonest “discussion”. Holy fuck, obvious troll.
Nah, I checked the user’s history before engaging, they (heh) seem to be honestly convinced. But I don’t think even they can explain where their fear of trans people comes from.
Not really.
Try Truth Social.
You’re not being censored, you just have a shitty and unpopular take. Go back to whatever cess pit you crawled out of. Bigots will not find support here.
May-be not talking about trans agenda and transgenderism would make your post feeling less bigoted, and more open for discussion.
And in general denying basic human rights to people no matter the reason sucks
🤦
If you are willing to be respectful and discuss ideas in good faith then there are lots of communities to choose from. Here are two off the top of my head:
!general@lemmy.world
!actual_discussion@lemmy.caIf you want to broaden your perspectives and have discussions with actual trans people you could try !trans@lemmy.blahaj.zone
However, it is clear that you are searching for a guaranteed safe space to say something that you aren’t comfortable voicing out loud, even on an anonymous forum. We have all seen this show before, hence the comments you are getting. If you want a radical free speech space to say anything without consequences then Lemmy isn’t your platform.
There. Now you can stop complaining that nobody will answer your question. Go do something more productive with your day.
thank you for this thoughtful, clear, and definitive answer to the question.
It’s been a long time that I’ve seen an actual fascist on here. Probably just another rage bait account. Fuck off. Thanks.
Do you know any lemmy communities that allow criticism of transgenderism?
Surely replying with the same question over and over will eventually get you the answer you’re hoping for
Trying to stay on topic.
instead of only allowing comments that support the trans agenda.
The agenda of being able to exist?
What other “agenda” do you think they have?
Do you know any communities that allow criticism of transgenderism?
I’d be much more willing to answer your questions if I was confident that my replies wouldn’t be censored for disagreeing with you.
You are being dishonest. You were just now basically invited to discuss but chose to ignore that and immediately assume a defense position of “not being confident”.
Chances are you will take this post as an example of being oppressed of an opinion as well.
If you are sincere then engage with the person asking a question.
Well, if you want to have this discussion then we’ll have to take it elsewhere.
So you still choose to be dishonest. And a liar. If you want to take “it elsewhere” then that suggests you know of such a place, a thing you keep asking for. But seem to know about it?
I am now convinced you are a social experiment; possibly AI driven or as a biological entity.
Take this exactly as you think how I might mean this.
Do you know any communities that allow criticism of transgenderism?
Again:
What kind of criticism?
Like I can criticize my friend for not recycling, no one will complain. If I say they shouldn’t be allowed to exist because of an immutable physical characteristic, I’d be a horrible fucking person.
So what exactly do you want to criticize besides their right to exist?
Again:
I’d be much more willing to answer your questions if I was confident that my replies wouldn’t be censored for disagreeing with you.
Do you know any communities that allow criticism of transgenderism? If you can’t answer this, then you can just move on to another thread.
we’ve found the most fragile person on the platform, fuck off back to twitter.
More personal attacks.
more fragility.
So…
You won’t say what you want to say, until I tell you a place it’s allowed to be said?
Do you legitimately and truthfully not understand how that’s impossible?
How is anyone supposed to know where you can say something if you won’t tell them what you want to say?
Logically. How is anyone ever going to be able to answer your question?
Alright well, this is a waste of time.
I’m just going to ignore you and move on since you’re clearly not here to answer the thread’s question.
I’m just going to ignore you
If you were ignoring people, you wouldn’t be responding to them saying “I’m ignoring you”.
Does that make sense?
To ignore someone, you simply ignore them. I can’t think of a simpler way to explain that…
Social media is a circle jerk machine: It will reinforce any sentiment to it’s absolute limit.
A sub like the one you suggested will inevitably turn into a anti-trans hate machine. No such space will exist for long on Lemmy, nor should it.
I’m sorry to see that everyone seems to assume your question is in bad faith. But considering what you’re asking for - that’s kind of understandable, isn’t it?
Were you really looking for honest discussion? If you posted without inflammatory language and a combative attitude, you may have started an actual dialogue. But you didn’t.
No. Go back to reddit or Twitter or wherever such asshole behavior is tolerated.
Pretty sure we’re not allowed to criticize transgenderism on reddit.
Twitter is a different format.
Neither is decentralized.
Also, people aren’t assholes just because they’re not loyal to transgender beliefs. You’re not helping the cause when you try to invalidate their views.
No, they’re assholes. And their views aren’t worth validating. Shouldn’t be platformed or even entertained as much as I’ve entertained yours.
So ill say it plain and leave it at this. Fuck off back to the Klan rally. Cunt.
I’m going to ignore you because you’re being extremely rude.
You started this thread with hostility and rudeness, what exactly did you expect?
The fact that you include terms like “trans agenda” and “transgenderism” in your post are pretty clear indications that you’re not serious about avoiding rudeness.
May as well just cut off your ears at this point because a lot of people are going to be very rude to you anywhere you try to spout this shit outside of the Klan rally the commentor mentioned.
Stop worrying about what’s in other people’s pants, you’ll have a much more relaxed life.
But they are acting like assholes when they say things like “trans hysteria”. Combative and dismissive behavior is jerk behavior, so if you don’t want people to call you one, don’t act like one.
🥱
I’m looking for places with less censorship so we can have actual discussions instead of only allowing comments that support the trans agenda.
Did anyone come to this thread to actually answer the question?
Looks like the answer you got was “not here” and you can’t accept that.
“The trans agenda” is in itself a bigoted statement. The agenda of trans people is to exist. If you’ve never used the terms “straight agenda” or “cis agenda” you’re the one with a bigoted agenda.
This is full of weasel words. Here are just the ones that stood out to me:
- “Censorship”, which is just “free speech” with makeup.
- “Regular people”, implying that anyone disagreeing with you isn’t regular
- “Hysteria”
- “How bad things (are)”
- And of course, “trans agenda”
Everyone believes you are asking in bad faith, because it’s clear that you are.
(And as always, XKCD 1357 applies)
Probably. For Lemmy instances, read the community rules in the sidebar and instance rules on the instance (in the sidebar when viewing the top-level page).
You could also start your own community on some instance that doesn’t take issue with it, or even start your own instance if you’re willing to set up and run one.
EDIT: Now you kind of made me curious, and I thought that I’d skim some instances running 0.19.11 (an up-to-date version, so are presumably reasonably maintained). Part of the problem is that there are probably a number of things that instances might (and often do) prohibit, and what an admin might consider objectionable probably ranges from party to party. Like, say you said that you wanted to have a good-faith discussion on the impact of transexuality, weren’t going to criticize any individuals involved, and were going to be polite. That might pass muster with some places that have comparatively-restrictive rules…but hard to know in advance.
-
Some straight-up have an explicit prohibition on transphobia.
-
Some prohibit harassment.
-
Some prohibit being “unkind” or similar.
-
Some ask a user to be “respectful”. What that entails probably differs from person to person in interpretation.
Might ask an admin in advance.
Going through a couple of general-use instances, some that I would guess, from the rules text, probably are going to be on the more-permissive side:
-
lemmy.libertarianfellowship.org says that they specifically take issue with censorship on many instances. They say that they do have some rules, but nothing on their rules page seems to prohibit criticism of transexuality.
-
discuss.online has a “be nice”-type set of guidelines.
-
real.lemmy.fan has no explicit prohibition other than on harassment and asks users to be kind.
That being said, if you think that you’re gonna say something that might raise hackles, maybe ask the admin(s) there to clarify whether it’s something that they’d take issue with.
Thanks a ton for this informative response. I’m going to check out these instances and see if they fit the bill.

I’m looking for places with less censorship so we can have actual discussions
Who are you going to be having discussions with if no one is there with you?
regular people aren’t allowed to have their own beliefs on the matter.
I’m regular people, which is to say I have pretty much every privilege one can enjoy in America other than wealth. But this statement implies either I must think like you, or I’m not regular people. Don’t drag me down into the mud with you.
I’d honestly be surprised if even asking this question didn’t result in censorship.
As long as you’re not engaged in bullying behavior, I wouldn’t expect it to get censored. But then I don’t really care, either. I’m not interested in these conversations with you; I’d rather hang out with… regular people. By which I mean people who aren’t obsessed with other folks’ genitals.
