There’s a buoy that is supposed to mark where channels join (not shown in the link), but they’re not in use in my area. The channels are a bit like a side road joining up with a curve in the main road, except being a channel the buoys aren’t exactly dense. So, in my case, i can travel in a straight line and the markers switch sides. I remember that one, but there’s another three that are similar in nature that I don’t get to frequently and have to think about. The added fun is that the are is a bunch of channels in a pile of rocks (islands) in a body of water; it’s not like I’m travelling up or down a river.
I have charts, but that would be cheating. also worth observing that the area is not dangerously busy.
Are we returning or leaving? Where did the channel end and the new one begin? I go through that enough for it to be a problem, but not enough to remember where they switch direction.
Port and starboard are easy enough in a powerboat (of the type I am familiar with). Tie up port side, sit on starboard (steer board) side to steer.
But what is most fun is remembering what direction in a channel one is travelling in an area where the channels merge.
Is this like the Apple car? Just around the corner?
Realtek, don’t they have issues with drivers in FreeBSD? Or am I horribly out of date.
In any case I’m excited, even if i barely tap into 1gbe capability most of the time.
Sleep on side, no snore, but rotator cuff syndrome.
Sleep on back, snore, but no rotator cuff syndrome.
I hate being old.
I think a moderately competent lawyer would be able to build a case. Of course, it would get tied up in court for a while, but protecting IP is a big part of IP law (more on trademark I think, but IANAL). The C&D should have been sent a long time ago. It’s possible that this is a department that’s “moving fast and breaking things” and higher-ups said no to the license. In no way should that be considered to excuse the behaviour.
Is that the same lane-keeping that Full-Self-Drives into concrete barriers? https://www.cnn.com/2024/04/08/tech/tesla-trial-wrongful-death-walter-huang
I don’t think they can, because they’re suffering so much from the rectal-cranial inversion that Musk started with his FSD.
Muskrat insists on using computer vision entirely, and building it in-house. Tesla (probably EM) as I recall also insulted MobilEye so they refuse to do business with them. Mind you, I think lane keeping is generally a computer vision problem.
It’s absolutely pitiful that they can’t figure out lane-keeping when a cars a fraction of the price have it.
It’s also a huge red flag that they are shipping “self driving” but can’t do lane keep assist.
ChatGPT loses money on every query their premium subscribers submit. They lose money when people use copilot, which they resell to Microsoft. And it’s not like they’re going to make it up on volume - heavy users are significantly more costly.
This isn’t unique to ChatGPT.
Yes, it has its uses; no, it cannot continue in the way it has so far. Is it worth more than $200/month to you? Microsoft is tearing up datacenter deals. I don’t know what the future is, but this ain’t it.
ETA I think that management gets the most benefit, by far, and that’s why there’s so much talk about it. I recently needed to lead a meeting and spent some time building the deck with a LLM; took me 20 min to do something otherwise would have taken over an hour. When that is your job alongside responding to emails, it’s easy to see the draw. Of course, many of these people are in Bullshit Jobs.
Gonna be tough with no feet. If you have a place to hang some rings they’re cheap and you can do a bunch of stuff with them. If you can do an unloaded squat, in volume, that opens a lot too.
